Product Details

Anti-diarrhoea capsules. Can stop diarrhoea with one dose. For the effective treatment of sudden short-lived attacks of diarrhoea. It works by making the stools more solid and less frequent. For adults and children over 12 years. Contains the same active ingredient as the brand name Imodium.

Directions

Adults, the elderly and children over 12 years: 2 capsules to be taken initially, followed by 1 capsule after each loose motion, up to a maximum of 8 capsules in any 24 hours.

Not recommended for children under 12 years.

Ingredients

Active ingredient: loperamide hydrochloride 2mg. Also contains lactose, maize starch, talc, amgnesium stearate, gelatin and the colours quinoline yellow (E104), erythrosine (E127), patent blue (E131) and titanium dioxide (E171)

Side Effects

Occassionally side effects can occur with this product, these include stomach pain, tiredness, dizziness, dry mouth, and allergic reactions eg skin rashes. If you notice these or any other side effects not mentioned here, please speak to your doctor or pharmacist.

Warnings

Do not exceed the stated dose. if you take too many capsules seek medical attention. If symptoms persist consult your doctor. Use should not exceed 24 hours unless advised by your doctor. Further investigation into the cause of diarrhoea should be considered if there is no improvement within 2 days of starting treatment. Please note that these capsules relieve the symptoms of diarrhoea only and should not be used as a substitute for rehydration treatment. Do not take if you are allergic to any of the ingredients listed or if you suffer from inflammation of the bowel (ulcerative or pseudomembranous colitis). If you have been told by your doctor that you have an intolerance to some sugars (lactose) contact your doctor before taking this product. Check with your doctor before taking if you have liver disease, or are pregnant or breastfeeding.
