Co-codamol Effervescent Tablets 32

Co-codamol EFFERVESCENT tablets may be used for short term treatment of acute moderate pain which is not relieved by paracetamol, ibuprofen or aspirin alone.

NB: Although we used to sell larger packs of 100, the 32 pack is now the largest legal pack size.

Adults and children over 12 years: 1-2 tablets dissolved in a glass of water, which may be repeated every 4-6 hours. Do not take more than 8 tablets in any 24 hour period.
Children under 12 years : not recommended.

(If you are elderly and have a damaged liver your doctor will usually prescribe you a lower dose. Do not give to children under 12 years unless your doctor has told you to.

Do not take Co-codamol tablets if you:

• are sensitive to paracetamol, codeine, any of the ingredients in the product or other opioids.

Check with your doctor or pharmacist before taking Co-codamol tablets if you:

• are pregnant, plan to become pregnant or are breast feeding.

• are taking any other medication.

• are suffering from any medical conditions.

Do not take for longer than 3 days. Taking codeine regularly for more than 3 days can lead to addiction, which might cause you to feel restless and irritable when you stop the tablets.
Taking a painkiller for headaches too often or for too long can make them worse.

DO NOT drink alcohol whilst taking Co-codamol Tablets

Co-codamol Tablets may make you feel drowsy, if so, do not drive a car or operate machinery.

KEEP THEM IN A SECURE PLACE WHERE CHILDREN CANNOT GET AT OR SEE THEM.

Immediate medical advice should be sought in the event of an overdose, even if you feel well, because of the risk of delayed, serious liver damage. Contact your nearest hospital casualty department, or tell your doctor, immediately. Take any remaining tablets and the container with you.
