Ovex Tablet 1

Ovex tablet. Contains 1 single tablet treatment for threadworms. For adults and children over 2 years.

The active ingredient of Ovex is mebendazole.

The tablet should not be taken by women who are pregnant or think they may be pregnant, or when breast feeding. If you think you may have had an allergic reaction to this medicine or any of its other ingredients in the past (for example, came out in a rash, itching, swollen lips or face), do not take it again without checking with your doctor.

This medicine should not be given to children younger than two years of age, unless recommended by your doctor. Always tell your pharmacist if you are taking any other medicine because some drugs should not be taken together. For example, if you are taking:

metronidazole (a drug used to treat bacterial and protozoan infections) as a serious skin reaction can rarely occur
cimetidine (a medicine used to treat stomach acidity), you may need to see your doctor for advice.

As with all medicines, Ovex should be kept in a safe place where children cannot reach it. Please see the pack to check the expiry date, after which any medicine that you have not taken should be returned to your pharmacist for safe destruction.

All medicines are extensively tested before they can be sold to the public. There is little chance of anything going wrong if they are used correctly, that is if you use them as follows:

Keep all medicines in their original packaging and in a dry place.
Return unused and old medicines to your pharmacist.
Keep all medicines out of reach of children.
